I think I’m still dumb. The third scenario (If you select the third card, the kidnapper can show you any other card....)

Seems like it combines two scenarios within one; if you pick card 3, the kidnapper could show card 1 OR card 2. And if that’s the case that you separate them into two distinct events, the math changes.

Sure, you can do that if you'd like, but then you have to divide those outcomes in half since each one happens 50% as often as if you pick "MINE" to start and he shows you the other "MINE."
